PARIS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today warned developed nations that it would be "morally wrong" if they shift the burden of reducing emissions on developing countries like India, asserting that poor nations had a right to burn carbon to grow their economies.

"The lifestyles of a few must not crowd out opportunities for the many still on the first steps of the development ladder," Prime Minister Modi wrote in the Opinion section of Monday's Financial Times. "The principle of common but differentiated responsibilities should be the bedrock of our collective enterprise. Anything else would be morally wrong," he said as the leaders from 150 countries opened a 12-day UN conference on climate here, aimed at limiting emissions of gases blamed for global wa ..

"Since science has moved on and alternative energy sources are available, they argue that those just beginning their development journey bear no less responsibility than those who have reached the zenith of their progress. New awareness, however, should lead advanced countries to assume more responsibility. Just because technology exists does not mean it is affordable and accessible," he wrote.

This is worse than MMS saying "muslims have the first rights on the nations resources".... Forget 2019 for Modi

Quote

India's religious epic Ramayana which has seen over a dozen translations in Persian is known to have about 250 words of Persian: PM Modi

I'm guessing what he said didn't come out too well.

Ramayana would have been first recited in some kind of Sanskrit or proto Prakrit language. Those languages and Avestan (the pre-cursor to modern day Persian) have a lot in common as Aryans who migrated into India developed Sanskrit and those that went towards the Caspian Sea developed Avestan from the same original source. Hence a lot of common words/ loan words.

A golden thread. Such idiots back in 2012, who thought NDTV debates is the voice of the nation...

Never forget 2012-2014, where many things were not possible to utter. We are in more freedom today than those dark times.

Yeah back then criticism of Sachin just shy of god status will get you death penalty.

Modi becoming the PM is a wet dream on online forums that is never going to happen. (unless there are large scale riots which polarize the majority to vote on religious lines which in itself is highly improbable). The best bet for BJP currently is to start talking to allies who are not happy with the congress. Except Karnataka, they are weak in all three southern states not to mention UP and Bengal. If they get majority from 3 out of these 5 states with a moderate leader at the helm. BJP can win the 2014 elections given the anti incumbency against the congress.

Wet dream lol. Chup hoja aur badam thoos chaparganju
