HIL gets 6th challenger

After remaining unsold in the inaugural edition of the Hockey India League, the city of Bangalore is set to own a team in the second edition of the cash-rich hockey tournament, confirmed a powerful official. Bangalore was slated to be part of the inaugural edition, but at the final moments, it was the business house - Indian Cements, which also owns the Chennai-based Indian Premier League outfit, backed out. "A decision has been taken and it has been decided that Bangalore will have a team in the second edition of HIL surely. It is yet to be announced formally," an official of Hockey Karnataka, on condition of anonymity revealed exclusively to The Pioneer. This edition which started on 14th of January up to 10th February had five teams - Delhi Waveriders, Mumbai Magicians, Uttar Pradesh Wizards, Jaypee Punjab Warriors and Ranchi Rhinos. Given the fact that, the tournament has attracted fans world-wide, in times to come, it is very much possible that many more teams will join the bandwagon.However, the official declined to name the company.
