In 1940, Meiyappan produced Bhoo Kailas, a mythological film which created history. The film was made in Telugu, its lead players were from Telugu cinema and it was directed by Sundar Rao Nadkarni, a Mangalorean who had his training in Bombay. Meiyappan died on 12 August 1979, and after his demise his sons took over the mantle. The AVM saga continues, its glory undiminished AVM was founded by Gurunath's grandfather i guess.
