Robben admits to diving against Mexico

What theory? He was clearly fouled when Rafael stepped his foot. The call was correct.
Not it was not. It was no penalty kick. His dive earned him that penalty But for dive that was noway a penalty. It was run of the mill tackle and he was in no position to score a goal from there as he was surrounded by 4 mexican defenders. Then he dived. If that was a foul his earlier acting should have earned a penalty as well which he admitted later. That looked far worse.

It was a botched tackle that caught robben on his foot. Theirs 2 different kinds of dives, one is when you exaggerate contact to force the refs into making a call, another is when you make something out of nothing. Their is nothing wrong with the former. Refs look for every excuse available to not make a big call and players are with in their right to force the refs into making a call. The problem with robben is he is guilty of doing both in the same match so he is an easy target. If it was a Mexican player that drew a penatly in the same manner their would be no controversy.

Botched tackle not a penalty kick worthy tackle. That is where his dive comes into play. Tackle. Like that I see all the time in this World Cup. This is robbers known tactic putting himself inside penalty area and waiting until someone coming at him remotely. This guy just uses the tackle to his advantage and dives. If he had run without diving that would not have been called a penalty.

Yeah thats my point, when robben fell down he basically challenged the ref into making a call which the ref did. But Rafa did make a mistake that's why I don't think Mexico can complain. Its like in basketball when Players fall down to draw an offensive charging foul. Nobody considers it "diving" but it technically is. Mexico historically chokes in the rd of 16. This is no different.

Good referees spot them and give yellow cards. He dived thrice did not get penalized even once. Mexicans have reason to feel robbed. They didn't even have time to stage a comeback. Heartbreaking for a side that kept them on the bay for so long.

well this guy started all the diving and theatrics from his chelsea days then mastered it in bayern munich.he wasnt such a cheat earlier but has become a massive diving **** over the last few years.he's got good company with the likes of busquets,di maria(big sissy),alves, neymar.ashley young, drogba etc. actually the refs in the domestic, european leagues are pretty aware about robben's theatrics so they most often dont fall for it
