Good news for fast lovers. Shivam Mavi is again hitting 150kph, bowling in the nets.

@express bowling @Mosher @Suhaan

That's great  !

I also want to see Mavi get back his back of a length rising snorter which he used to bowl with some inward seam movement.

That was a vicious delivery he had which has gone missing these days.

Mavi hitting 150 k again is partly due to the Umran effect too

If we want some Indian pacers to improve their speeds or get back their speeds then having a speed-benchmark like Umran is not bad.

Which is why I want Umran to succeed so badly.

Actually not. As I talked to his coach, he said he was not bowling full intensity in last two years because of heel injury. Mavi was hitting 150 before that too.

Injury is one reason or the primary reason.

But motivation and competition always play big parts in anyone's improvement.

How did he bowl ?

when he bowled at 144 it was in stands coz poor lengths

when he bowled at 127 it was in stands coz poor lengths

He did land few yorkers right in last over and they didnt score

but then last 2 balls in slot and dispatched for sixes

So basically poor lengths - either too short or too full . Didnt even use variation of length or pace which Hardik did the best again .

I agree with your point, where my concern lies is that we have now tall fast bowlers now who can bowl upto 150k.

Mavi's batting hasn't improved from his U-19 days, so not sure if he will get a chance soon as now there are many fast bowlers ahead of him.

Even for his height,if you notice he generates good amount of bounce

Hits the pitch by seam, beautiful outswing which he has and also holds the ability to bring it back in sharply

Seen him bowl those channel balls regularly ,very nice prospect to have in red ball cricket(if he bowls 140-145+ regularly, which he seems to be regaining again)

We are playing Pakistan at the end of this month

And they have chosen an attack of Shaheen, Rauf, Naseem, Dahani snd Wasim.Jr.

No medium pacers and mostly attacking bowlers who want to take wickets.

If Bumrah continues to be injured then we will play a totally medium paced attack with most pacers being defensive and run stopping types.

T20 cricket is still a gamble and anything can happen ... but their pace bowling is looking much stronger on paper.

Barring Shaheen & Rauf.. Pace attack is a bit raw.  Either way we will have a good look at these guys before WT20.   I remember how we tore apart Usman Shinwari in UAE Asia Cup last time & ending his career somewhat.

It's a good bowling line up on paper for sure.

Siraj is a real wild card option now with Avesh failing brutally.

Bhuvi Bumrah Arshdeep Harshal will be confirmed selections....  In a 15 member squad Siraj may or may not find a way.
