U know what’s ironic? The commentary box had guys like Gilchrist and Hussey who were absolute best players of pace bowling. And those guys were continually discussing the impact of pace and how that makes batting tougher during Nortjes spell. And here we have in our country, a bunch of nobodys being hyper critical of young quicks.

Malhotra, who could not do anything in tests, keeps advocating medium paced line and length stuff. And pretends that 150 k stuff means nothing.

And he is selecting our selectors now. And the selectors picked are similar in mindset.

While Kohli, Smith, Tendulkar, Hayden and Lara keep discussing the difficulties of facing 150 k+ balls.

These clowns gotta get Umran ready for test cricket. Bowling 150 plus is a rare commodity. Only dumb retards would waste such talent. Gotta get him ready the next time we tour overseas. There’s a huge difference between 135-143k and 149-155k

Englands gonna have 2 of them, Wood and Jofra breathing fire. And SA with Nortje.

don't think jofra will hit 150+ right away since he's coming back from injury. wood can do it, but his pace does drop later on - his action, however, is skiddy and hard to handle even at 145

Seriously WTF. Don’t know when things are gonna change. Extremely difficult to change someone’s mindset.

Steyn Lee akthar bishop waqar each one of them stressed the value of high pace and hinted frustration even from a rivals pov that some of the fast bowlers from ipl are not getting played. Every test class batter and greats from past say the same thing, yet there is a vocal mediocre group or failures who keep backing line and length trundlers almost exclusively, all trundle attack is useless

Why do t we atleast  have a quota system for bowlers ?? @Vijy  @express bowling

One for fast bowler with complete skills like bumrah

One for a bouncy pacer like prasidh kuldeep whatever

One trundler quota just to satisfy the whimsical needs of our trundler loving yokels.

I am ok with this as we have no choice anyway. Appeases everyone. It's pathetic to even think about it but that's the bar we have set for our brilliant bcci.

When we will be using outsourcing services of some companies in future giving a wide array of services in talent acquisition, talent spotting, exciting commentators with love for pace and high SR batting and dissing selfish statpadders all the time

Quota should not be for trundlers

2 Pacers with Pace + Seam Movement + High skills ....  Bumrah, Shami, Siraj. (  although Bumrah is much quicker than the other two )

1 Express Pacer or very close to it ....  Umran, Tyagi, Sen

1 Tall Bounce Bowler  ....  Prasidh, Tyagi, Sen

1 Swing Bowler with bounce and some batting ability .... Mohsin. (  Arjun later on )

We should carry these types of 5 pacers on tours.

I know, but give how  our management work, We would be requires to have a trundler to satisfy their whimsical needs. It's like a reward or something. Batsmen are worshipped. I feel like lot of these pot bellied ceo and corporate magnates feel like bowling is for the lower class. Like its a thankless menial job reserved for the untouchables to put it in their terms. Their way of looking down supposedly. Bowlers do the grunt work whilst batsmen get to stat pad and boost their ego by winning all the accolades. Batsmen are seen as like the business class members. Trundlers would be held in higher regard because they wouldn't have to break down their bodies and toil as hard as fast bowlers.

It goes like a class system

We have Batsmen as first class

Then spinners second class

Trundlers 3 Rd class

4th and final are the fast bowlers.

indeed, one trundler is acceptable if that guy brings two things to the table: (a) extra bowling skills (e.g., swing or seam specialist) + (b) some degree of batting

but no more than one trundler should play

Just wanted to take this opportunity and post what the Mighty Curly Ambrose told Raj Bawa; same advice applies to other upcoming pacers too. The key thing to appreciate is: (a) Curtly knows what he's talking about, as he was a deadly bowler with huge bounce at sharp pace, and (b) Curtly speaks rarely, and not prone to praising too much.

"Ambrose, a man of few words, congratulated the youngster and said, “Don’t lose your pace. You are quick. You can trouble the best in the business with the kind of steep bounce you generate from the good length. Don’t become a line-length bowler. Enjoy the evening.
