There goes the chance for Harshit Rana

Bumrah, Shami, Siraj, Arshdeep, Shardul plus one of Akashdeep/Mukesh/Avesh.

Law of averages,we must loose 4-0,3-1,3-0 this time

The major issue is Aus fields and Pitches, they are hard on bowlers, The pitch surface are hard, newer bowlers they finds it hard to get good landing causing injuries.

Then hard and big outfields fielders have to run alot and cover larger sector of the ground. This was the shortsightedness TM and selectors had.

Basically TM will be risking newer bowlers who donot have much FC cricket behind them.

Akash Deep should have played that last test against Eng to get bit more assessment of  his skills, he looked like a top bowler on that one-of test he played.

That could be pitch or conditions, He was bowling 140+ consistently, getting Zip of the surface and extra bounce for atleast 6-7 over in a row. as again could be conditions helping him.

If they want to play mayank they have to make sure that he is 4th bowler who will bowl 3/4 overs in a spell, are they ready  for this?? do they have other 3 bowlers, who can run in all the day and bowl pace considering both Bhumrah and Shami are coming after injury and siraj seems to be declining.

In this case will TM and selectors risk 3 bowlers, this is a 5 test match series.

They Invested in Avesh/Mukesh, sent saini on A tours not sure if that was the right move. Last Pak's tour to Aus all the pak bowlers got injured some had to go back home due this v.issue lack of FC cricket under then and trying to bowl fast, bowlers need to bowl fast for longer spells in Aus to get wkts.

Else if the pace goes down there is not much swing and it becomes easy pace with good bounce that Aus batters would love playing

I this is true how F moronic is this. Does this Agarkar even have an iota of useful brain in him?

Only singh has some kind of exp. playing in Aus, so a good case for him. Ind is pratically down to 2 pace bowlers now for tests- Bhumrah (who is coming off his 2nd injury)

and what seams like a declining Siraj.

Shami is also recovering and not sure for how long he will be around. Ind TM thought of his workload management and only using him for test and resting him from white-ball this was 2/3 years back under Kolhi and Sastri but since them he has played more cricket.

Ind does not have  Umesh and Ishant to take off some load from Bhumrah and Shami.

Rana should have been tested till now in white-ball. TM and selectors lost interest in Sen and Umran.

Now the TM and selectors are left with 3/4 options - Singh, Avesh, Mukesh Kumar and Khaleel. Or send inexp. bowlers to Aus who have not played much in domestic as well.

The way they have wasted high potential bowlers in last 2/3 is worrisome, incase Rana/Mayank/etc did not perform well in Aus or gets injured they too will be left to rot.

It has been the problem since ages and not from past 2/3 years.

Saini was in form of his life during 2017-18...was picking wickets in longer format left, right and center. They debuted him in 2019 in white ball cricket for which he doesn't have much skillset.

Before 2022 T20 WC, they were bringing in Umesh & Shami from the semi retirement..both of whom haven't played T20's for ages. Kept on wasting time on Bhuvaneshwar & someone like Natarajan who was a T20 specialist was not considered.

Siraj is another example who was a primarily red ball bowler, now he is at a crossroads where he himself doesn't know what his strongest format is, and he is 30 years old now. We wasted time on Mavi as well, nowhere to be seen.

Prasidh was the only one who got some backing, bad badly fall of the heels due to injuries. But his backup are Avesh, Mukesh Khaleel..all of them are in 28-31 age range, and in India usually bowlers retire (or forcefully dropped by the time they hit 35).

BCCI need to start planning backups for all bowlers when they hit 30 year bracket..and backups should be 20-22 year old bowlers and not 28-29 year old. So that if a bowler like Shami retires by age of 35, you will have a decently experience quick of 27-28 year old that can replace him.

Not a single exciting to watch pacer will be in action today for India

Arshdeep is atleast effective in T20Is. The other 2 are neither that effective nor exciting to watch.

I hope the new TM make these lazy bones bowl with more effort, bounce and pace within a couple of months.

Sometimes these articles are due to the influence of the PR Agencies of these players. With an intention to prod the selectors.

I will wait and watch and see how things unfold.

It's important that Harshit and Mayank utilize the chances they get in ODIs, Duleep Trophy and A-team games and stay fit too.

With Sen recovering from an operation and out of favour for the time being, these 2 need to succeed in the preparatory games.

Otherwise we will see Arshdeep and Mukesh getting in.
