tapandrun Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 (edited) Would say DPL , Maharastra league and UP league have good talented players, rest of the leagues lacks bowling talent so v.hard to judge the batting when ball itself is coming at sub 130 kmph. And then followed by Punjab t20 Edited August 26, 2024 by tapandrun express bowling 1

I don't think he has the action or the natural explosiveness to hit 150 +. Can definitely be a sharp early 140's bowler and looks durable unlike some of our young quicks with light frames. tapandrun 1

Even Ryan Harris or Archer don't have that explosiveness Archer is quicker ,but Harris more or less used to operate in high 130s in tests and would cross 140-145+ at times when need be Edited August 27, 2024 by Suhaan

There was an ODI series maybe in 2009 or thereabouts when Harris breached 150 kph on multiple occasions. Not sustainably, because I think his body wouldn't let him . But he could certainly reach those speeds. singhvivek141 1

Harris wasn't consistently fast in later years because of his knee problem But ,He bowled fastest of 156 kph from both sides in Aus tour to SA right after famous 5-0 Ashes 2013 involving Johnson and Steyn Infact he was quite pacey in that ashes as well singhvivek141 and Nikhil_cric 2

Need4Speed Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 a skiddy bowler at 145k is as fast as 150k+ non skiddy bowler to the batsman..he will rush them a lot.. Simarjeet looks like skiddy to me..others may know better

JaFanatic Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 I'd buy it if it's Tyagi. Simarjeet sure isn't that quick. He's quick compared to our regular trundlers.

Played 10 IPL matches , do not think he touched 150 kmph there but was hitting 146-147. Seeing 1st time getting 150+ kmph on speedometer. Suspecting it to be mostly technical glitch but DPL t20 speedometers looked okay (what ever speeds are captured in the highlights packages). In DPL too he has bowled around 146 kmph. tapandrun Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 (edited) There is no measuring scale for ATG, some ppl will claim certain player was atg and another group will claim the the other player was atg/goat. Its all subjected to various mostly ppl just see 2/(max)3 generations of players to make up their mids. All come down to stats and stats are function on time, more they play better stats they have. No express bowler can come close to bowling same amount of deliveries as 145 (max) kmph bowler and no one remains express till the whole career (exception of Akthar, Lee, Tait and now wood), there is certain time they bowl express and then with age and injures they slow down. You try add variety to your bowling/ batting line-up, while fielding a side you try to bring best possible side with the resources one has. Akthar/Bond/Lee/Tait etc all were express are they atg ---do not think so no one will feature them in their all time playing 11, but they are the x-factors in the side. Get some good bowlers with skills and a express bowler the bowling line-up starts looking something else. Yes these bowlers go for runs and thats due to edges going to the boundaries and batters trying to be more proactive so that they can get the pacer out of atck. There is no defending an express bowler, use pace get runs get the bowler out of atck. If one would take example of kumble/Mcgrath just on their ability would you say they would end up be some of the finest bowlers ?? , kumble more so his is distant 2nd to his contemporaries - Warne and Murli , its just he bowled more deliveries and played more games. Do not think these days a 150 kmph bowler will have the career like Lee/Akthar who can bowl all day at same pace and not get injured that often and play thorough out their career being a 150 kmph bowlers, they were lucky too they never had career ending injury and whenever they gout injured they were able to come back with same pace. So if you have a 150 kmph bowler use them if not there is no point, and T20 150 kmph bowler is different from a test 150 kmph bowler. Every captain will like to have a 150 kmph bowler if they have 2/3 skilled bowlers who can bowl in good areas at sharp pace and bounce for a longer period of time. When a team have McGrath and Gillispe they can include some1 like lee and add an allrounder to that, if they have Asif/Sami/Wasim/razzak etc they can add Akthar. There is no point of having 150 kmph bowler when team does not have 2/3 other decent fast bowlers in the team. Similarly T20 is younger format, is there any ATG LAF bowler, but right now they are most sought after not far behind mystery bowler or a leg-spinner. Before T20s captains would not take leg-spinner in their ODI teams and now no one would take an off-spinner Edited August 27, 2024 by tapandrun tweaker, Rightarmfast and Adamant 3
