Hold your horses, similar dhong buzz was created for Tyagi by BCCI officials

Since Mayank got late entry into cricket and he bowls extreme pace..we all know his body is not ready yet to take the stress of 5 day game.. what disappointed me was that he couldnt even handle T20 matches..

Keeping that in mind..its fine to give him ample time to prep and get his body ready first for playing white ball..

first he should be able to play white ball matches consistently and then we should think about red ball matches..

Regarding action iirc @rkt.india also mentioned his action may need some tweak to avoid injuries..how much time it requires to settle into new action ..expert knows more about it..

In any case even if we start with him in white ball and tweak in bowling technique..I am fine with that if it means we dont lose him..

Playing T20 shouldn't be a problem..IMO.

He is at that age where bowlers will get injured, and I think he has been bowling with that action for some time, so his body is kinda used to it.
Historically, changing the action has never worked for us, we lost Aaron once he changed his action, was half a bowler and had no control. Tyagi is another one who keeps on changing his action every season. Ishant tried to mould his action as well, completely lost his seam presentation for almost 5-6 years.

I think BCCI and selectors should have some vision and use bowlers like Harshit, Akashdeep in red ball. Maybe even try Avesh or Vaibhav as well, they may end up better than white ball.

Mayank can focus on white ball only for some time. We don't need to drag Bumrah everywhere.

As long as he Mayank is back to extreme pace and playe white ball cricket till he is ready for red its fine..

I still want Boom to play in some important white ball matches with them so he can help these you g bowlers on thought process, planning and execution and they get a chance to learn from him

His upper body and lower body lack sync

That's why he's prone to injuries

Nahid is also has a slim and wiry frame with weird biomechanics but he manages it well.

Both Mayank and him are similar age wise.

But Nahid has had I guess 15 FC games under him and has come through a system.

15 FC matches means he can sustain the fast bowling..

I saw the highlights of Nahid’s bowling..In addition to his pace his height is helping him to get extra bounce which is troubling batters in even those flat tracks..

if he can remain injury free he is going to be a very difficult bowler to face with more experience

Nahid will play against us this month.

Who will be our counter among new pacers ?  Mukesh ?  Arshdeep ?  Someone slower ?

Legendary Shivam Dube is the new flavour of town.

On a serious note, we will go with Ashwin-Jadeja-Bumrah-Shami...5th bowler can be one of Kuldeep, Siraj or someone new (Akash, Harshit).

Shami likely won't play BD Tests.  I reckon Siraj and Bumrah might play 1 game on rotation basis & would like to see Akashdeep with the ball.

Harshit may not be first pick.

Mayank didn't have late entry in cricket. He is playing club cricket since 14-15. He played for Delhi u19. Late entry was what Umesh Yadav and Zaheer Khan had who started playing proper season ball cricket after 18 years of age.

I think Bumrah and Siraj will play both tests. New pacer will come in only if the pitch is pace friendly and a 3rd pacer is played.

This is how Indian cricket usually works.
