CSK Fan
And some of the attitude shown by so called 'men' here prove exactly why India is such a sh!t hole for women Just because a women is in the glamour industry or plies her trade by means of her looks and body, it is ok to print whatever about her, it is ok to focus on her body parts without her consent. Learn new things everyday here. How is this attitude different from, "She was asking for it", excuse used for every crime against woman. In gist some of the posts here mean exactly the same, "She was asking for it because she has showed cleavage before, she was asking for it because she does item songs". So yes, all that means she has no right as a human being and her cleavage and body is public property now

And I consider this forum as well educated class of the Society so it must be worst for women in uneducated/poor class of society. I do not agree with Glamour world.. but I wouldnt put those actresses in 'classless' categories the way some of you are mentioning. Disappointed.. G_B_
I am surprised people don't get this very simple distinction 1) If a person poses for something with the intention of showing something, item songs, even top less photos. It is ok, as it is her will 2) However, if a person wears something and then you focus on her body parts without her intention or permission it is NOT ok Doesn't matter who he/she is. Logic of some people here is like, since a prostitute plies her trade by sex, it is ok for everyone to rape her. Seriously! Rape is against the law. Whats hard to understand in this? Whats with these extreme and wrong examples? TOI made a remark. Big distinction. The issue is about sexism. Or supposed sexism about treating women like objects. Deepika the item girl and Deepika the normally dressed girl. Its still the same girl. We live in a free society. Deepika is free to do an item song. TOI is free to make the remark based on how she dresses. You do those titillating item songs, those remarks come with the territory. and dont bring India the country into this. The Daily mail a british newspaper makes its living on similar tweets and posts. It happens all around the world.
Desi Cartman
All TOI has is collection of oops moment and wardrobe malfunction and all other crap. It's a softporn website and why, because that what most of their readers want to see everyday.

jalebi_bhai
What has Shobha De, the de facto spokeswoman for every Bharatiya naari, said about the issue? Heard she and Deepika are best friends.......:haha:
jalebi_bhai
Sitting on the fence here.......but how would people react if TOI had tweeted about Ranbir Kapoor's boner? Maybe we need to distinguish between an on on-screen performance and the media/paparazzi being lecherous cretins........

rkt.india
Once, you are a celebrity, everything of you will be looked at. There is no privacy because that is what is the cost of being a celebrity. You are always in public eyes about what you do, wear, speak, everything. Its not sexist. Even male celebrities wont be spared by entertainment media. Happens all over the world.

Lord
Replace cleavage with as**/b00bs for JLa case and you have the same scenario.. instead of TOI' date=' you have some bootlagger leaking pics..[/quote'] you are missing a simple point that they were private pics.Even if JL was fully clothed, she had a right to protest as those pics werent meant for public view. However if she does a nude movie scene/photoshoot and some paper reports it as 'JL's nude photoshoot' she won't protest as it would be senseless.Or you can point me when anybody did like that. It wasnt a see through dress issue AFAIK. How is it maligning her name?they just reported exactly what happened

BlueBee
Deepika's point of view Well said but this comment ain't wrong. I fully agree with the below poster. Some bollywood movies even shows scenes of stalking (In the sense of laughter). Which is again a subject of rape, some douchebags goes onto repeat those scene in real life for What? Fun! **claps** so u mean to say u want to live a life of respect n love? what is it that u r getting offended at? R u forgetting that u urself are a part of the industry which has contributed highly in ruining the image of an Indian women....bikinis,hot pants, hell lot of make-ups,sexy legs ... this is the image of a women u guys portray these days....while u also knw that bollywood has that power to actually work towards the upliftment of women.... but not 'displaying' women as a mere object is simply nt ur cup of tea no? coz that wont fetch u easy money ryt??? n business is all u guys focus on!!! U r talking abt mixing the reel n real life han? Dont u do the same when u sleep with random directors in order to bag big films?? Stop commercialising urself first ..... then talk about respect n all! .... For god sake... wake up n smell the coffee dippy!
