These guys won't get enough significance untill they bat at top and produce a 400+ runs season at 130 strike rate. If they score 250 runs season at 165 strike rates then they would be termed inconsistent and not as shining spark as say these Paddikal etc would be.

Yes I also do not understand why India praise 130 strike rate and ignore the batsman who can play at 165+ strike rate

I don't know why Indian selectors are ignoring these players

Cheap mentality

Let's not deal in hypothetical scenario.

Which of them has scored 250+ at 165 st rate.?

If no one has done that then you have your answer.

We only have produced half a dozen power hitters in our history :

Yusuf Pathan

Kapil Dev

Yuvraj (power + timing)

Dhoni

Salim Durrani

Raina does not qualify as a power hitter. Similarly Engineer was flamboyant but definitely not a power hitter, same goes for Sandeep Patil.

Sehwag also wasn't a power hitter.

We need to obtain more talents from Kashmir, only there will we find power hitters and express bowlers.

It's all in the genes.

Huh lol until and unless India believe timing is everything nothing goona change

Specialization of formats is required we have to pick who are t20 hitting specialist

Then only we will get more powerhitters

Lets not forget we have a large stadium now and before we didn't have a large stadium

India doesn't give much attention to domestic circuit that is the problem

I disagree no one hit the ball harder than Sandeep Patil, he was all brute and flamboyance, nearly took of mudasar nazars head in a odi game, both Ajay jadeja and robin could power hit, budhi kunderan another one, CK Naidu.

Based on IPL it seems

1. Hooda
2. Tewatia
3. SKY
4. DK
5. Pandya

are the only ones who are capable of scoring runs at a brisk pace. SKY and DK are the 360 degree player who can play shots all over the ground with timing.

Pant used to be a power hitter in 2017-19 but from 2020 onwards along with his fitness, his hitting ability (against pace) has also gone down.

All capable batters; and have some semblance of form going for them.

Some may not fare well against bounce and some against swing. But its better to play them than those who are struggling even in home conditions.

It looks like Pant's technique has been reviewed by many(team think tanks) after his success down under. Have a look at where they bowl to him now, versus how they used to bowl to him prior. This is where some athletes try to add to their existing skill set and stay ahead of the curve. The ones that continually succeed in doing so end up becoming GOATS, the rest fall by the wayside.

Lack of intent is the reason behind not producing power hitter even yesterday Powell showed how to do power hitting

Why don't we get a hitter like him??I think we a lazy or something else we don't like to spend time we think only hitting the ball softly will do the work rather than whaking the ball hardly and mercilessly that the difference why west indies produce so much power hitter

One time hear rovman Powell you will know why he is a power hitter because he promised his mom that he should take them out of poverty that intent that hard work we lack we believe useless exercises will do the work
