he too was able to swing the bowl remember the toe crushing yorkers bowler to sachin and dravid when he first bowled to sachin. both great batsmen's off stump were cart wheeling. Remember i still remember his spell of bowling to Ponting at Waca, pointing was looking helpless, he smiling as he was not able to touch a ball. His spells of reverse swing bowling in against SA in SA dont remember the year though, he single-handedly destroyed SA from a strong position, his spells against England in 2006 i think were superb and u talked about hyperextension, it doesnt mean u will generate pace by hyperextension, RP Singh also has hyperextension, but he is no where near Akhtar in pace. We talk about Akram, when he started for me he was ordinary, i have seen his bowling footage from 1985. He made his skills better later after he got some experience. Waqar was more was good but with only old bowl in his initial years. he was not able to swing it new, he used to bowl better with the old bowl when it reversed. I am talking about talent here where i think Shoiab is superior than Akram or Waqar. They both worked on their skills, while Shoiab could not keep his feet on earth, had attitude and injury problems. Look at his records which speaks itself, how good he was, look at his strike rates in tests and one days. Take a look at these videos: YouTube - Shoaib Akhtar v Ricky Ponting (" Fastest Over Ever Bowled " - Langer) http://www.veoh.com/browse/videos/category/sports/watch/v14961287aGsJryem
I have seen every one's full career Wasim was very talented when he started infact the youngest bowler to take a 10 fer in tests. http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/63398.html He was way too young and raw when he started. And which footage you see from 1985 he decimating Aussies top order in B& H 85?,,he looked pretty good. And his two inswinging deliveries to Srikanth and AMarnath in 87 series is being still discussed by pandits.Yes Waqar was very good when he started pace and yorkers. If u rthinking about looking ordinary in certain matches then Shoaib when started looked ordianry against Aussies in 98 series where Mark Taylor made a triple ton..Shoaib has more pace and no he didn't ahve extra talent to survive, without pace he will get thrashed. He didn't have sustain ability to move the ball and beat like Wasim or Waqar,he needs pace. You will see him getting injured and skipping matches more often than any other quick, simply because pace his biggest weopon and didn't have the mental make up to bowl with reduced speed and he puts maximum strain on his body to bowl fast. And that video proves that he was quick.Don't blame injuries and attitudes. Those are cowards escaping tools.Imran had severe back injury, came back well.Waqar had two serious back injuries came back well,Wasim was very injury prone during 85-89,that was the major issue forhim, then diabetes since 1998.These guys fought it and came back.No excuses. The guy is relying on pace and show offs,he can't remain fit,yet wants to bowl(or chuck) from a long run up. You think Akhtar superior simply you watched him more. And making your opinions about others based on few footages in youtube. One of my uncles who saw Imran told he was the best of all.Infact he has the best statistics of all.Flawless.Incredible average against the best side of his era WI,Wasim has pretty good average against the Aussies, still not as good as Imran,Waqar didn't have good against Aus,same with Akhtar too.
