Those Kheera cutting and all are done in my village....villagers celebrate Janmashtami by singing Krishna Bhajans with dhol, kirtaals and they sing in parody of bollywood songs too!! Et tu Brute! Seems UP mein half of the culture is similar to Bihar :yay:..and yes Krishna Bhagwaan darshan nahin diye :sad_smile::sad_smile: Also Ladies will cut Kheera as a sign that Bal Krishna is born...and the best thing is that they sing some real beautiful folk songs called "Sohar"...normally sung after a child is born....Those Sohars are fun and practical example that how in hinduism we are free to love god in any way we like.........Really things like Sohars etc. missing in large cities like Mumbai. And that kheera has to be a chotta waala kheera too..cute sa. It is certainly true that in Hinduism one is free to love God in any way he likes. The relationship between bhakt-bhagwaan is quite unique in that sense. Look at it this way, if a young chap is very naughty having many girlfriends he gets christened a Krishna, if he eats a lot he gets christened Bheema, if he the role model of the family he gets christened Ram and so on. Kahan tak baat barhal marde.. okar address/mohalla batawa ham tehra ka sara khabar yehni baithe baithe bata dik.. larki ke chaal chalan :giggle: sab pata chal jaai, biyah kare ke sonch taru ta e sab dekhe ke na pari ho.. Waise Maithili is more a distinct language than say Bhojpuri, Magahi or Awadhi. The latter 3 are all dialects. Maithili is a dialect too but lot more independent to say Bhojpuri or Magahi. And sooooo freaking sweet...love it. My actual Maatri-bhaasha is Maithili, my mom is from that area, so I can understand it a bit. In my district Jaunpur and adjoining districts like Pratapgarh, Allahabad, Azamgarh etc., Kurmi is just another caste. Their official surname is "Patel". (don't confuse with those hi fi Gujarati Patels:D) Although a few of Kurmis among those few who came to Mumbai in search of a job have been successful in Plaster of Paris/Interior decoration, furniture related contracting business. MDDM/Langat-Singh/Rambriksh benipuri/RDS sare college mein hoga ye deptt.. par sambhawatah MDDM or LS college..
