Okay BB I suppose this was the thread you had mentioned to me. Help me understand how did Sachin play 6 tests, 11 innings and 560 runs? To my knowledge in the last 3 series this is how he has shaped up BD: 2 tests 254@127 SA: 3 tests 199@33.2 England 5 tests 267@29.6 So help me understand where did you get that 6 tests 11 innings 560 runs :whatchutalkingabout what did I miss?

SAF series was in 2006 hence its not counted ... this is the list for 2007 and we played only 3 tests in Eng not 5 and the runs are also not correct.
So how are these numbers compiled then? I am still at a loss to understand. What series/tests are you considering here? Details please.

Any tests played since Jan 01 2007 .... (Calendar year) Last test in SAF series + 2 Tests vs BD + 3 Test vs Eng = 6 tests.
Okay then that makes sense. Thanks. But allow me not to take the list seriously when about 45% of the runs(254 out of 560) have come against BD. Overall: 6 Tests 11 innings 560 Overall excluding BD 4 tests 8 innings 306@38 Sorry nothing worth writing home about. xxx

So who are those other Indian batsmen that are worth "writing home about" ?
Was that the intention of this thread BB? I dont think so. Still if I had to live by batsmen scoring at 38 or so I can pick out a couple if thts what you want. Karthick and Ganguly come to mind immediately. And yes this is another reason to breed youngsters. I would much rather have a promising youngster scoring @30-32 than a failing geriatric @38. xxx
