DesiChap
ICC announces umpire and referee appointments for upcoming Test and ODI series James Fitzgerald September 21, 2007 The ICC today announced details of umpire and match referee appointments for upcoming Test and ODI series in Sri Lanka, Pakistan, India and Australia. Shortly after the completion of the ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa, England will travel to Sri Lanka for five ODIs and Rudi Koertzen of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires has been appointed to stand in each of those fixtures along with a local appointment. Javagal Srinath of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees has been appointed to oversee that series. Meanwhile, Pakistan will host South Africa for two Tests and five ODIs during October. Alan Hurst of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees will oversee the entire series. Simon Taufel and Mark Benson of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires will stand in both Tests, which are set to take place in Karachi and Lahore. Their colleague on the panel, Billy Bowden, will then take over and officiate in each of the five ODIs, along with a local appointment. It will be a busy time for Australia, too, as it travels to India for a seven-match ODI series. The series referee will be Chris Broad of the Emirates Elite Panel and he will be joined by Steve Bucknor, who will stand in the first four ODIs with a local appointment, and then Aleem Dar, who will umpire the last three, again with a local appointment. In November, India and Pakistan go head to head in a five-ODI, three-Test series in India. The ODIs will be shared by Billy Doctrove of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires and Ian Gould of the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires, with local appointments. The match referee for this series will be announced in due course. The Tests will be umpired by Simon Taufel, Billy Doctrove and Billy Bowden with each standing in two matches. The match referee for this Test series will be Ranjan Madugalle of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees. The two Test matches between Australia and Sri Lanka in November will be refereed by Mike Procter. The on-field umpires for both those Tests will be Aleem Dar and Steve Bucknor. Appointments for future matches and series will be announced in due course. James Fitzgerald is ICC Communications Officer Link to comment

BERGKAMP
for the first time i was quite impressed with bucknor during the england series. im more worried about how dar and chris broad will screw us over. i get the feeling doctrove doesnt like us much either. Link to comment
Chandan
And no one is talking about Ian Gould?? This guy doesn't have a clue on spin bowling. I wonder how he'll umpire matches that are held in subcontinent!! Why don't we have ANY competitive umpires in the panel? Link to comment
