DesiChap
Mumbai: In perhaps the first signs of professionalising the national selection panel, the BCCI's Finance Committee on Friday approved of the decision to pay selectors. The Finance Committee recommended in its meeting in Mumbai that each of the five selectors be paid a sum of 25000 Rupees for an ODI and 50000 Rupees for a Test match. Currently, the selectors, who attend Tests and One-Dayers at home, are paid only a daily allowance and were working on an honorary basis. The Travel and Daily Allowance of the selectors have also been approved of, to be the same as that of the players. "One decision that has been taken is that the TA-DA rule has been implemented, which will be ratified by the working committee," BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah said on Friday. The BCCI also announced a list of 38 players who have been contracted with the Indian Premier League (IPL). Shane Warme is the highest contracted player at $400,000. Glenn McGrath - $350,000 Mohammad Yousuf - $330,000 Stephen Fleming - $350,000 Shoaib Malik - $300,000 Shoaib Akhtar - $225,000 Graeme Smith - $225,000 Muttiah Muralitharan, Mahela Jayawardhane, Sanath Jayasuriya - $250,000. http://www.cricketnext.com/news/selectors-get-on-the-bcci-payroll/28344-13.html Link to comment

theguyinallblue
How come shoaib Malik is getting more than jayasurya..murli etc... IPL will take many pakistani players as they pakistanis will amke a large chunk of TV viewers abroad and in Pakistan... They are even following ICL....as there are quite a few pakistani players playing there.... MoYo..is getting way more than he deserves...first of all...he does not belong to 20-20 style of cricket... his fielding in ODIs and Tests were pathetic..i wonder who will buy him... Link to comment
