KP Pietersen 6. M Yousuf 7. A Symonds 8. A Kumble (captain) 9. DW Steyn 10. B Lee 11. M Muralidaran I didn't do one for ODIs, but that's because I really don't follow them as much. How come your team has just one opener Sangs ( of course Sangs is a very good choice)...and Yousuf ? he has been in very poor form in recent test series,. I agree that Steyn and Lee would select themselves on the fast bowling front , easily the best, also Murali is a walk in too. What about Mahela Jayawardene ? He should be there and IMO, he is probably the world's best captain . Kumble cannot be captain as he has been skipper only 5 tests so far. Link to comment

These are the 4 best bowlers available ( 2 fast and 2 spin), also Sachin is a automatic choice of course. I would go for Hayden and Sangs as openers ( and Sangs to keep to save one slot in team), and middle order has to have Mahela as he is one of the best batters in the world and he IS the captain ( even above Ricky Ponting), Ricky of course should be vice captain Link to comment

Guest HariSampath Posted January 22, 2008 Share Posted January 22, 2008 So, if we have Hayden and sangs opening, Ricky at 3, Sachin at 4, mahela at 5...plus the 4 bowlers, there are still 2 spots, possibly an allrounder and another batter or another specialist fast bowler and a specialist batter. candidates could be Shane Bond, and maybe Kevin Pietersen or Kallis for the batting slot, as there are no real world class allrounders at the moment.
