However, the CPM govt has ensured that it was sealed off while the genocide took place and there were no witnesses or news coverage!! And the wimpish Central govt, because of their shaky future, stood like mote spectators and condoned the genocide! It was painful hearing the then Congress spokesman, Singhvi, pathetically bleat like a lost lamb! Wonder where was the grinning jackass, Kapil Sibbal to throw his two penny bit?? Nandigram is a perfect genocide brushed under the carpet-- a shame on Bengal and India!!!. Would the CM of West Bengal pls articulate his position on the armed 'recapture' of a piece of Indian territory by non-government forces?? Does he condemn it?? Does he care? Neither! Is CPIM action constitutional??? May conscientious folks everywhere demand that the government of West Bengal be dismissed, President's rule for an extended period (1 yr, say) applied to detoxify state institutions from CPIM influence and fresh elections conducted under heavy central security to prevent CPIM workers from rigging the polls....does our spineless Puppet PM who looses his sleep caring for Islamist terrorists has any sense to stand-up and take CPIM goons head-on??

We'd prefer to go our seperate ways, form our seperate nation and continue rather than being slaves to Delhi. Mind you, i am NOT condoning the actions of the CPM- they were despicable and the genocides of Nandigram was yet another highlight on how uncivilized India today is- along with Gujrat, Maoist insurgency, hinduvtas setting fire to churches & christian homes in chattisgarh, etc etc. But bengali people will never ever accept Delhi dissolving our right of self-governance and self-determination. We'd prefer to break away before that happens, really. And despite DR's racist tirades about 'bengali napunsaaks', you'd do well to remember that we inspired the rest of the country to independence from the British, we Bengalis ushered in the rediscovery of our cultural & intellectual heritage. Bengalis have also shown that we are a force to be reckoned with when the center goes against our interests. Bengalis are more than capable of carrying out a breakaway movement, so i suggest you refrain from such divisive comments. You rode our coattails to independence and if it wern't for Bengalis, India wouldn't have a SINGLE nobel lauriate, a beautiful national anthem and cultural reneissance. I can garantee you one thing- EVERY Bengali i've ever known-myself included- will start sending money to fund an 'independence-from-india' movement the very DAY Delhi imposes Presidential slave-status on us. fresh elections conducted under heavy central security to prevent CPIM workers from rigging the polls CPM doesnt win polls due to vote-rigging- they've been given a clean-chit by EVERYONE, including the UN, Congress, BJP and practically every central government- even when they were highly antagonistic towards the CPM. CPM wins because, quite simply, they embodify one hallmark of communism- staunch support amongst the lower/lower-middle class. This is why CPM has ruled Bengal for 25+ years despite Kolkata itself consistently voting non-CPM.
