Shehezaada Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 What a movie! I've been wanting to watch this movie for a long long time. I proudly call myself an Indian...but I don't know much about our history of wars with Pakistan....71 or 99. Ajay Devgan as Captain Manoj Pandey stole the show. I'm a big big fan of Ajay Devgan and he does an amazing job in this movie. Also the story told about him is true...he literally cleared out Pakistani occupied bunkers by himself while braving through a hail of gunfire. Even after getting shot multiple times, he threw a grenade and killed off the final Pakistan bunker thus completing his mission. RIP Captain Manoj Pandey. The movie could have done without the stupid love scenes between every single high profile soldier and more maa-behen galliyan! Anyways, does this picture closely resemble what actually happened in the Kargil war? I've had some of my paki friends tell me that according to them Pakistan won the war. I find this a little hard to believe considering that they had occupied strategic escalated points and we fought them from ground up. We still managed to push them back...and we could have gone further but the apparently the orders were not to cross the LOC. So what are your views of the outcome of the Kargil war? Also where were you, what were your feelings, and what was your reaction when a Prasad fiver took us to victory against Pakistan in the middle of it all?
Desi Cartman Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 i dont see cricket and war in the same picture. As for the war .. it was as unnessescary as any other war. The things that I will always remember. 1. Indians asking permission from the US to use air force in their own country 2. Finally something that Congress did helped India ie Bofors 3. Young kids dieing because US didnt like the idea of India using air force 4. Pakistani army leaving the dead bodies of their own soldiers and refusing to accept them 5. People still wondering who won .. no one did ..
Guest Hiten. Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 it was an absolute **** movie. Yep. It focused too much on soldiers' personal life than the war itself. The movie was overcrowded with too many 'stars'.
Shehezaada Posted February 28, 2008 Author Posted February 28, 2008 it was an absolute **** movie. come on! you didn't like when Sunil Shetty took 5 shots to the chest but still managed to kill 10 soldiers!?
