The killer was none other than Lavanya's father, who smothered her to death on Monday morning near their house at Srinivas Colony, Subramanyapura . Five years ago, Shobha married Mahadeva Kumar, a maxicab driver. It was a blissful marriage till Lavanya was born. Things then took a dramatic turn for the worse, with Mahadeva refusing to even pet his baby. Instead, he threatened the child, who cried on just looking at him. Lavanya spent most of her short life with her grandparents in Deepanjalinagar. On Sunday, Shobha brought her daughter back to her house. On Monday morning, Shobha and Mahadeva quarrelled over a trivial issue. Shortly after this, Mahendra took Lavanya with him, saying he was going for a walk. An hour later , he returned alone. When Shobha enquired about the child, Mahadeva said she was in an autorickshaw that was parked outside the house. Shobha saw that Lavanya was lying on the rear seat of the autorickshaw and not moving. She took her to a nearby doctor, who declared her dead on arrival. Mahadeva is absconding. (:(((
