If they were also in their mid-late twenties (which are considered prime years if a batsmen) then it would have been a fair comparison. Aging happens! Reflexes slow down and it becomes that much more harder to come back from a slump. It requires utmost motivation and professionalism to go back to the academy/county/firstclass cricket and iron out the flaws. How many of them in the Indian middleorder do you think are diligent enough to do it?!? With age being not on their side, sadly, retirement seems to be only graceful way out. Not all at once, but in a phased manner - but the process has to be started now! Link to comment
