The Bangladesh police team crossed the border and entered Dighaltari village in Dinhata area of Cooch Behar district at around 12.30 am and raided the house of Md Hassan Mian and his wife Noorjahan Bibi, Superintendent of Police DP Singh said. Seeing the team, Mian tried to flee but they fired at him and then dragged him into Bangladesh territory, sources said. Singh said the police have started a probe into the matter. It is still not clear to us why the Bangladesh police came here, opened fire and nabbed the man, he said. Meanwhile, unofficial sources said Mian had criminal record in Bangladesh and as the Bangladesh police failed to nab him in their country they came here to arrest him. On Tuesday, a flag meeting was held between Border Security Force (BSF) and Bangladesh Rifles (BDR), where the BSF termed the entry of Bangladesh police as illegal and protested the incident, according to the DIG-BSF (Cooch Behar Sector), VS Shikarwar. The BDR assured the BSF that it would look into the matter.
King Tendulkar Posted August 20, 2008 Posted August 20, 2008 This is ridiculous. Bangla police men should be shot upon unauthorised entry to India
THX_1138 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 unauthorized breach of our territorial and aquatic borders with hostile intent should be met with the deadliest of force. if we can secure our borders then half our domestic terrorism problems could be solved. pity that india is not so insulated from the rest of the world as united states is... and a long territorial border with hostile enemies over some very treacherous terrain makes the job virtually impossible.
THX_1138 Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 DR i am guessing Mian's house was within the border of bangladesh and he is a bangladeshi citizen... because if he is an indian citizen then according the united nations, unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation's borders and abduction of its citizens is an act of war... and while i do not want to fight the bangladeshis, i do hope they know what they are biting at...
sandtest Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 This is nothing! There is a massive demographic change in Assam and West Bengal bordering Bangladesh. Illegal Bangaalistanis have settled in bordering areas and Commie government of West Bengal never misses a chance to distribute "free citizenship" to each and every illegal Bengalis crossing the borders. They do it for vote bank. I can safely say that if West bengal is ruled by commies for another 50 years, then like Kashmir another Arundirty Roy of future will demand "freedom" for Bengaalistani Ummah from Indian government and future Vir Sanghavi kind vegetarian Hindus among us will shiver in their dhotis and cave in to their demand for some idiotic reason propagating their "think the unthinkable" talk. While future senile p-secs of ICF will continue lamenting that Bihar gets less money than West Bengal (read J&K of today) from GOI, hence let's give up, at least Bihar and UP will remain with us...we are happy onleee.

Guest dada_rocks Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 Recently Assam high court took congres govt to task for encouraging bangaldeshi migration.....Congressi will sell their mothers if it earns them few votes
sandtest Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 ^^ Precisely! But since last 60 years who elects Congress over and over again....Indians like me or my hardcore Congressi admirer relatives, right!! See, That is why I say, we Indians are SELF-DESTRUCTIVE by nature...we shoot on our own foot then cry and go on fasting that we are driven out of our own homeland, ummah invaders from across border are bombing our cities, innocent lives of our citizens are lost etc. etc. recently Shankaracharya of Hindu math has gone on fasting to protest the refusal for facilities for Amarnath devotees and plight of kashmiri pandits, as if those Islamists of valley are going to give a sheet about all these no violent gandhigiri idiocy of fasting..:giggle: see we vegetarian preaching Hindus still live under illusion grandeur that Islamists can be convinced through Ahmimsa of fasting unto death:hatsoff: Ohh..well as far as illegal Bangladeshis are concerned they are not just limited till west bengal and assam, there are more than 5 hundred thousand illegal bangladeshis in Mumbai itself And we thought involvement of Bengali ummah terror outfits like HUJI is just a coincidence:giggle:
DomainK Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 The Bangladeshi population in India living as citizens is a huge threat already. If armed personnel can enter, assault, kidnap and go back, just imagine how easy it must be for a common man to cross and get lost in the crowd. Unfortunately, they look like us and speak like us. There is no way of saying for sure if a guy is a Bangladeshi or just a Bengali from West Bengal (though I do not know why we still call it west Bengal.....its in the eastern side of the country, so what if its to the west of Bangladesh, why should we name a state depending on which side of the neighboring country it is?). Indian needs to take such acts seriously. Give them a notice and a time period to return the kidnapped guy, complain with the UN and make them aware that another act of war will not be answered at the diplomatic level, but will be answered by the army and the airforce.
Kriterion Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 (though I do not know why we still call it west Bengal.....its in the eastern side of the country, so what if its to the west of Bangladesh, why should we name a state depending on which side of the neighboring country it is?). the naming convention long predates the independence of bangladesh. at the time bengal was one unit and east and west bengal were named relative to each other, not neighboring states. you're proposition is similar to the chinese wondering why north korea is named that way despite its being located south of china!
