Srikkanth happy with youngsters' progress Chennai (PTI): Chief selector K Srikkanth on Saturday said he was happy with the way youngsters like leg spinner Amit Mishra, included in the Indian squad for the first two Tests against Australia, are shaping up. Srikkanth, who is here to watch the India A's four-day match against New Zealand A was also impressed with Tamil Nadu batsman M Vijay and medium pacer Ashok Dinda performance. "It's good to see youngsters coming up. Mishra and Dinda have bowled well... then there is Vijay," Srikkanth, who watched the second day's proceedings with co-selector Raja Venkat, said after the draw of stumps. Mishra, whose six wicket-haul was instrumental in dismissing New Zealand to 315 all out in their first innings, has taken 14 wickets so far in the two four-day matches against the visitors. Vijay has been scoring consistently having made 45, 57 and an unbeaten 70 today. Dinda has been impressive with the new ball, taking seven wickets in the two matches against the Kiwis. Srikkanth said he was here to watch the youngsters in the India A team perform as part of assessing various teams. "We were in Hyderabad (where the touring Australians are playing the Board President's XI). We wanted to see the India A team performance. It is a good opportunity for youngsters to perform."
