Kartikey
http://ibnlive.in.com/news/crickets-the-biggest-confidence-building-measure-pak/79079-5-20.html New Delhi: Pakistan has warned India that India's cancellation of the cricket team's tour early next year will adversely affect confidence building measures between the two countries. Pakistan Interior Secretary Kamal Shah said Islamabad is ready to provide the best security and all logistical support to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to make the series a success. Ahead of Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi's four-day India visit from Wednesday, Pakistan has asked that India rescue the cricket series scheduled for January and February. Shah's comments come as PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt met Indian High Commissioner Satya Pal in Islamabad to discuss the tour. Rezaul Lashkar, PTI Correspondent in Islamabad, reports that Pakistan is keen to see that the tour goes on as planned. "Neutral venue is possible if India refuses to go ahead with the tour. Rawalpindi has been dropped as a venue as there have been lots of suicide attacks in the city recently," Lashkar says. The Indian cricket team is supposed to tour Pakistan for four weeks. India are to play three Tests, five One-Day Internationals and a Twenty20 game. The Test matches are at Karachi, Rawalpindi and Lahore while the ODIs are to be held at Faisalabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Multan and Karachi. The lone Twenty20 will be played in Karachi. The recent terror attack in Peshawar has added to the security concerns. Australia had also cancelled a tour of Pakistan in March and the Champions Trophy had also been postponed due to security concerns. Pakistan foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi who is in Delhi to meet with Pranab Mukherjee, has said that not just the Indian cricket team but any Indian was welcome to Pakistan. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
This is blackmail and bullying from the paks. I read it as if you dont tour there will be terrorism! Well we have been playing in pak for a while now and that jihadis still continue. If it is not safe it is not safe. No amount of black mail or bullying will alter that Link to comment
DomainK
*** off is the only answer to that. PCB can forget about any cooperation from BCCI now. Link to comment
