Never forget these men .... EVER. We have all seen and heard the names of Karkare, Salaskar, Kamte and Unnikrishnan. But there were several low-ranking policemen who were killed in the line of duty. We should never forget. Also, is there a reliable fund that one can contribute to? One that will directly benefit the families of these low-ranking cops who will be forgotten by our government in no time? Sitting here in the luxury of the Western world, this is the very least that I feel I can do to make a tiny, tiny difference. Any ideas? ^^ No we shouldnt. But most likely they have already been forgotten. All of them laid down their lives for India, my personal favorite being Salaskar and Kamte. Had they been provided with decent weaponry I have no doubt that the CST group would have been caught/killed before they could do any more damage. There are others who lived to fight another day. I was pleasantly surprised to find Ishaque Bagwan was the cop who pinned down the militants at Nariman House. He was the cop who did the first encounter in Mumbai Police history when he shot down Manya Surve, a gangster/urban dacaoit whose mannerism and style was copied by Amitabh for agneepath.
