sandtest Posted January 25, 2009 Posted January 25, 2009 Sonia will always pressure MMS to continue once he recovers fully, since at the moment he is the only senior leader in Kaangress who is soft enough to serve her faithfully. But let's say MMS, takes a retirement from active politics, and god forbid, Kaangress again succeeds to gather majority in Delh after 2009 general elections, then surely Sonia will face a big challenge in finding a suitable slave. PM post is not like Presidential post where Sonia can install her housemaid and make merry, any attempt will definately generate a lot of media scrutiny, no matter how many Padmashrees Sonia had showered on Rajdeeps and Burkhaa Dutts previously, they will look for TRP and credibility of their channel first. So her Her options are getting extremely narrow -- (1) Pranab Mukharji -- Unlikely, as I feel, Pranab has some little sense for self-respect, independent thinking in politics, being a Bengali from core it comes naturally, so he may not obey Manio's each and every command. He did gave a lot of uncomfortable statements against pakis post-Mumbai massacre. Pranab is already causing some worry among Sonia's hardcore loyalists in Kaangress. Pranab has not earned complete trust of Sonia either. (2) AK Antony -- He could be a trump card for Sonia to contain Pranab's already larger than his size image in Kaangress. But given AK Antony's past record- that man doesnot like to get invloved in controversies and complications. He most probably, will politely, refuse being "used" as PM. (3) Sushil Kumar Shinde -- Ideally, Sonia may like him to be PM as she can play "Dalit" card more prominently with Shinde at helm,and counter Mayawatis increasing Dalit vote base outside UP, which is at the moment a thorn in flesh for Sonia. But Sushil Kumar Shinde is vulnerable to scams and corruptions -- too risky for Kaangress future. (4) P. Chiddu -- Most suitable in beaurocratic positions of Finanace but who knows. (4)Arjun Singh -- Not possible...:haha: (5) Digvijay Singh ---lately he has been making good soundbytes prasing Rahul baba, trying to outdo other Kaangressis in their Gandhi dynasty worship. But unlikely, as he has zero experience in central leadership. There are bigger sharks in kaangress already waiting. I feel, it's about time Kaangressis ask Rahul baba to be projected as PM, this will effectively self-destruct Kaangress in long term,:hysterical: but Sonia is too clever to not figure this out. She will never allow Yuvaraj to be coronated pre-maturely. I think at the end it could be a toss between AK Antony or Sushil Shinde.
