Chandan
Here you go Chandan ... # of Wkts taken before a batsman reaches 30 in away matches since 1995 (Sorted by the last column) Team AwayTests Wkts(Runs<30) PerTest Australia 73 773 10.59 South Africa 74 673 9.09 India 72 619 8.60 Sri Lanka 60 515 8.58 England 77 660 8.57 Pakistan 63 523 8.30 New Zealand 59 468 7.93 West Indies 72 567 7.88 Zimbabwe 35 217 6.20 Bangladesh 30 106 3.53 Since 2003 Away : Team AwayTests Wkts(Runs<30) PerTest Australia 31 323 10.42 India 33 315 9.55 Sri Lanka 26 236 9.08 England 34 301 8.85 South Africa 39 326 8.36 New Zealand 25 199 7.96 Pakistan 23 182 7.91 West Indies 29 189 6.52 Zimbabwe 8 36 4.50 Bangladesh 20 78 3.90 Hmm... Not bad!! But do the same thing exclusively for home series also in the same time frame, so that we can compare the difference in our own home and away performances as what happs to other countries when they play at home. Also it is interesting to note that India has played 33 test away since 2003 and only England is ahead of it. I'll like to settle Fontain's doubts that our bowlers can't do well at home pitches! Dude why don't you relax, stop, and actually understand what I'm saying: Remarkeable how the stats present a different picture all together when you take the figures from 2003 onwards. And finally these stats are NOT weighted to consider flat decks you get in the subcontinent where the majority of the wickets are taken towards the end of the test when the pitches start crumbling/cracking. I never said that our bowlers can't do well at home pitches. And the stats pretty much bear that out. Since 2003 we're the 3rd best team overall in picking up wickets and that's considering the amount of turnover we've had in the pace bowling department. And finally, j/k about the Dude part! I know how much that annoys you! :winky: Link to comment

Fontaine
Since 2003 At home. At home since 2003 India are near the minnows in terms of bowling effectiveness yet in the same time period away, India have the 2nd best efficiency bowling when you include places like SA, Australia, England. So now you find this stat quite meaningful, don't you? And a minnow team doesn't lose just one test series in a decade. Do you know that in this millenium India has been defeated at home just once? Yet, you can count our series failures away from home and you'll find that we've won just three test series away from home in last 9 years, except in Zim and Bangladesh. Now will you give the reasons for those defeats? Link to comment
