graphic23
No, his point still stands. Sachin WAS captain that tour. (BTW, I'm not sure how many people have 'forgotten' that 167. Anyone who has watched it will agree it was a thrilling knock. G, thoughts after seeing that?) Awesome stuff Salil. I thought he was awesome yesterday, but then, man, the force in the drives and the flicks and even the pull shot was wristy. The pull off McGrath was shown 3-4 times in the highlights. It was a great shot. Link to comment
Anakin
That 167 was an uninhibited innings. He brought forth all his strokes and didn't care about his career anymore. Link to comment

ludhianvi
Nice Article Graphic. A great tribute to the Fantastic Five. Although, you could've gone a little easy on Yuvi  Link to comment

Chandan
It is a terrific piece Graphic!! Brought so many memories back. There wasn't much joy in that 99-00 tour to Australia when Australia had demolished India terribly. Then I was wondering if the Indian team could become good enough to even offer competition to Australia!! After that Sydney knock of Laxman I was amazed how selectors were sending him back during the ODI series while they were retaining a player like Devang Gandhi! It is safe to say that selectors's blunders were also one of the biggest reasons why India was such a poor team those days! Link to comment
umpire
that 167 by Laxman bought him ODI berth. He was not in original ODI line up but was included after this knock with Sachin's request. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Shame he got discarded so soon after. And then we went to the 03 World Cup a few years later with Dinesh fricking Mongia in the ODI lineup as our dead weight... while less than a year after that VVS was hitting ODI tons against Australia home and away. :banghead: Link to comment
