Vinod Dham, one of the best known investors in the Silicon Valley said Mr Motwani’s biggest contribution to the valley was perhaps the coaching he offered to Google. “His contribution towards development of search algorithms was very, very significant,†Mr Dham said. Mr Motwani who was born in Jammu, India, graduated in computer science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur in 1983, before doing his PhD from the University of California, Berkeley in 1988. Just 47. Sad.
