^ Ferguson definitely won't indulge in the overpriced Jan transfer market, Wenger has his kids, Ancelotti has his senior citizens, With Pienaar Spurs seem like they have a team to fight till the end of the season, Daglish certainly cannot attract world class players to this liverpool which will find it a struggle to make it to Europe, Mancini has a good squad and would do well to stop buying for this season till the existing stars settle-in.. Sums up the lack of interest in this window.. But watch out for some major moves in the Summer

Really mate? Is that why Suarez came out in open and quite nearly declaring that he was ready to move to England after we bid for him? :winky: Dalglish still commands respect from his old managerial and playing days. So attracting players won't be TOO big a problem.

^ Read about that just now. I certainly stand corrected. Suarez and Torres would be a lethal combo upfront. They'll just about bail liverpool out of the ditch they are in. But Ajax can afford to hold-out and make Liverpool pay up...(if they can..)
That's the problem. All the optimism has gone for a toss now that it was revealed that Liverpool's bid was pathetically low. Don't know how they were hoping to clinch a deal with that low money. Looks off now, unless they can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

The question is- does liverpool have the cash to pull it off ?.. they can't afford to empty their pockets for Suarez as the defence and midfield need some kind of reinforcement too. Adebayor on loan-to-buy till end of the season would have been a decent deal IMO although Mourinho got that bird.

I guess with the new owners in, cash wouldn't have been too much of a problem. The owners knew that investment was really needed when they bought the club. Probably they will be ready to pump in the cash in the summer when the window isn't as mad and players aren't as highly priced as now. Defence- yes, but our midfield doesn't need reinforcement. Suarez would have taken care of our persistent 'lack of goalscorers' problem, plus his quality, so I guess big cash is very much justified for him. Never rated Adebayor a lot, and trust me, the Liverpool fans would have never welcomed him. :haha:

This is really baffling. Just when we seemed to be getting back on track, just when things started to improve, just when we made our record signing…Torres revealed his wish to move to Chelsea…bloody hell. It is clear that by bringing in Suarez the owners have shown they are serious about revamping the squad. Moreover I bet this summer is going be a big one since we’ve zero loans and the money is going to be spent on quality signings. And soon the club will be in a better state than in last few years he has been with us. So why the hell does he want to leave? :wall:

^ 50-50..depends on if Chelsea calls Liverpool's bluff and offer Anelka + 50 for Torres (I think he is worth it).. else it can get very interesting to see a Torres/Suarez combo in operation - considering that there is no reliability of quality supply from midfield apart from Gerrard
