Nothing motivates Punter like the English. He should manage to eke out atleast 2 tons in this year's Ashes. His 156 at OT in 2005 was the best Ashes knock since Butcher's 173* in 2001 IMO.

Ooh, harsh. What about Waugh at the Oval in 01? I'm obviously biased (being a SRW fanboy), but IMO that's one of the most inspiring and amazing innings ever. In terms of context within a match certainly not up there with Ponting or Butcher, in terms of strokeplay and elegance nowhere near say Gilchrist at Perth or Ponting at Briz in 06, but considering what the man went through to play just one more game in England and leave with a victory - :adore: :adore: :adore:
