The problem with SA is not choking

I am a bit tired of shallow analysis about the SA team. when you fail so many times, there has to be a reason behind it. attirbuting it to choking is shallow. the real problems are SA cricket has some institutionalsied weaknesses since readmission. the major startegic weaknesses are 1. lack of flair and destructiveness in the batsmen 2. too much faith in allrounders. when you lack at the previous generation of SA cricketers, their batsmen were solid without being exceptional.solid enough to beat other teams. but when it comes to confronting the numerous matchwinners of australia, they were found wanting. when the moment came, kirsten, gibbs were no match for warne. it was warne, waugh and co who came up with magic. gibbs was regarded as the only batsman with flair . he was and still an erratic guy. kallis has been their best batsman. but he does not take matches by the scruff of the neck. of the current generation, the averages have certainly gone up. newer players like abd and duminy have started showing more flair. but the fundamental weakness remains. also the tendency to play too many allrounders means you play honest players like elsworthy, hall, botha and co. is any team going to lose sleep over kallis, albie, botha and VDM/? they are not exactly destructive bowlers. when you look at former aussies, you had mcgrath, warne, gillespie, lee all highly penetrative bowlers. even the likes of hogg and bickel chipped in wtih wickets, the problem is with the system and faulty thinking.
