Moles quits as New Zealand coach before uae tour Andy Moles has resigned as New Zealand's coach after two days of speculation following reports the senior players wanted him sacked. A press conference will be held in Christchurch this afternoon to formally announce the decision. Moles met New Zealand Cricket officials on Friday to discuss his future after reports that the players felt he did not provide enough technical and tactical support. The captain, Daniel Vettori, gave Moles only moderate support at this week's New Zealand Cricket awards. The decision means that Moles will not accompany the team when they depart early next week for a one-day series against Pakistan in the UAE. Moles took over from the previous coach John Bracewell 11 months ago and was contracted through until the 2011 World Cup. More to follow
