ESPN
Chris Martin and Shane Bond wrecked havoc as Pakistan made a shaky start on day three of the first Test against New Zealand. Having dismissed the hosts for 429 at the start of the day, Pakistan saw their innings get off to a stuttering start as Martin removed both openers to leave the tourists on 54 for two at lunch. Martin's first victim was Khurram Manzoor, who was bowled for six, before the New Zealand paceman trapped Imran Farhat leg before wicket for 22. Shane Bond then caught Pak skipper Mohammad Yousuf off his won boeling to land the big one. In his next over, he lured Fawad Alam to plau an easy catch to Brendon McCullum behind the stumps. Shoaib Malik was next as Bond disturbed his timber in the next over. All the action as it unfolds Earlier, Mohammed Asif claimed his fourth wicket as Pakistan quickly mopped up the New Zealand tail. With the Black Caps resuming on 404 for eight, Asif and Saeed Ajmal removed the last two wickets for the addition of just 25 runs. Shane Bond, returning to the crease on eight, managed to take his score to 22 before Asif struck with a deceptive ball which the New Zealander edged to wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal. His replacement Chris Martin then followed eight balls later, trapped leg before wicket by Ajmal. Iain O'Brien was the last man standing for the hosts having added 11 runs to his overnight score of two, while Asif was the pick of the Pakistan bowlers with four for 108. Link to comment
