BTW ICC people are damn lazy. It has been almost a day after we won the test but they have not yet updated the test rankings in their official site. Their website is still showing last updated on October 5. :hehe:
ICC rankings are updated only at the end of a series. :giggle: at you for not knowing it.

According to the dude in the Sky Sports studios' date=' this thread is a bit premature. He said we have to defeat Sri Lanka in the next Test to achieve number 1...[/quote'] No dude..we are tied at #1 with SA right now. If we win the series 2-0 then SA gets pushed down to #2. Obviously the official rankings are done after a test series is over...but who cares.

Sweet. I remember on the old forum, when some of the stalwarts here would have taken part in discussions as to whether we were the second best team in the world, whether we ever would be. To have reached the summit is a dream that I didn't even dare to dream. This is what it's all about. This has been brewing for about a decade, and there have been some major contributions by some World class players in that time. Congrats team India, and thanks... :-)

Reaching No. 1 rank doesn't mean much. We need to beat SA and Aus next year and then we can claim to have achieved something great.
Wow.. A few years ago we were struggling to win a match outside the subcontinent. Now we have not lost many in a row and we reach no1 and it's not enough? Stop complaining.

No offense mate, but this is just false modesty. Certainly we need to win in Aus and SA, but achieving no.1 status in test ranking IS a great achievement in its own right. Padosis would be having madrasa party with orange juice and lemonade shots if they ever achieved such a thing, of course they never will
