No clear leader in the five-day game

Why are we Indians so defensive? What is "blind" about Chappell - that he said that India's nose is just in front? That is absolutely spot-on. India has made it to the top - great job and all that - but can be toppled any time. It was a very balanced article. India is unlikley to have a sustained run at the top unless they address a couple of shortcomings in their squad.
when Australia went past Windies in the early 90s to become the Top test nation, no one wrote articles speculating how long they would be able to maintain top position.. at that time McWarne were just starting their careers, McDermott was about to fade away, no Gilly, except S Waugh, no great batsmen around.. and definitely there wasn't any world beating all rounder in that side.. For better part of their stay at the top, australia did not have any genuine all rounder.. no one wrote article after article doubting australia's stay at the top or who is behind their back waiting for a opportunity to overtake... Now why suddenly everyone (espcially the English and Aussies) waking up and writing such trash.. As goose put it.. India is no. 1 in Test for the moment. No more argument. Thats it. Let the Chappels go find ways for Aussie cricket to improve in tests so that they can try and beat minnows convincingly
