Lurker ordered me to do this so here goes my first ever attempt at a fictional team in a Asia vs Rest of the World 5 Test match super series. I have limited my selection to players who I feel I have watched sufficiently for me to be able to make a judgement. Asian XI : 1.Virender Sehwag 2.Sunny Gavaskar 3.Rahul Dravid 4.Boss 5.Aravinda 6.MSD *+ 7.KapilDev 8. Kumble 9.Wasim 10. Waqar 11.Murali Rest Of The World XI 1. Hayden 2. Smith* 3. Richards 4. Kallis 5. Lara 6. Gilchrist+ 7.Pollock 8.Marshall 9. Warne 10. Ambrose 11. Donald Explanations Later :P
so no spinner in world XI??? What if pitch spins on 4th day- don't need Warne??

*cough* McGrath *cough*
I will keep him in world XI, no matter what. But here, since Pollock is playing as an all rounder and #7 batsman, who will you replace McGrath with: 7. Pollock 8. Marshall 9. Warne 10.Ambrose 11.Donald Very tough choice!!

Kapil > Imran? i saw then only at the *** end of their careers... but many people say the reverse... just a small doubt
If he put Imran in the team, Imran is an aotomatic selection as captain, so he can't put the "*" next to MS Dhoni's name and that will be toooo hard for him...

I would pick Javed Miandad and Wasim Bari over Aravinda and MSD. MSD sucks when keeping against spinners.
i was hesitating between wasim bari and Kumar sangakarra. Kumar sangakarra is the number one wicket-keeper/batsmen in asia and hsi big advantage is the spinner is going to be murlitharan and his experience keeping to mulri will help. My Asia XI : Virender Sehwag Sunil Gavaskar Rahul Dravid Sachin Tendulkar Javed Miandad Kumar Sangakarra (wk) Imran khan © Wasim Akram Shoaib Akhtar Mutiah Murlitharan Waqar Younis. Strong Indian Batting, Strong Pakistani Bowling, and Sri lankans doing thir job by always being in the center with murli bowling most of the overs ! I really like that team.

I don't Agree to much with your world XI too... You have, Donald, Ambrose and Marshall as front line fast bowlers. If you want a fast bowling all rounder you have kallis....no need to have pollock. ??? Or are you playing Kallis as a specialist batsman? In what case better to have Ricky Ponting?

If he put Imran in the team' date=' Imran is an aotomatic selection as captain, so he can't put the "*" next to MS Dhoni's name and that will be toooo hard for him...[/quote'] Imran's record as a captain is not great compared to Dhoni, 48 tests, just 14 won ( 9 at home, 5 away). In ODIs, 140 odis, 75 won ( a win% of 53%).

So how did you say Imran will be automatic captain as if dhoni was nobody?
Dhoni is a good captain for me, even if sometimes i don't like his negative tactics in test matches. but still a good captain. But comparing to imran not even Dhoni but everyone is nobody when talking about captaincy...
