Lurker Posted May 9, 2010 Posted May 9, 2010 $6.99 went down the toilet today. Pretty much shows that even with a team of stalwarts sometimes the end result is cr@p. This has to be the worst work of Gulzar as far as I am concerned. As for music this reminded me more of Ismail Darbar, specially Beera and Thok De Killi. Saving grace is Rekha Bhardwaj, and Baba Bulle's shah lyrics that Gulzar uses to good effect in Ranjha Ranjha. Come to think of it whenever Gulzar goes that route the end result is magic as witnessed in Jihaal-e-maskin from Ghulami.

My favorite in the album is Behene De. It was performed well by Karthik, and is the only Rahman-like sound throughout the album. I dont know enough Hindi to appreciate the lyrics of any song, but this one and Ranjha Ranjha "sound" the best.
