Re: Bihar Is WORST State for Indian Muslims

we can't be spending all our resources "educating" just certain sections of the society. everyone needs to "grow up" on their own. send your kids to school' date=' college and they will automatically learn about the stock market and it's values. keep them in a madrassa, then god bless you and your family.[/quote'] Nope they will insist on (1) studying urdu persian arabic (2) studying quran/hadith nothing else (3)not oiing kafir mainstream schools if u got some solution with these conditions in place then may be it will be of some help....

Re: Bihar Is WORST State for Indian Muslims I am sorry... but you guys are having one brain fart upon another... Muslim population of india is being left behind in comparison with their hindu contemporaries because they shun the federal and state sponsored education system. but that is half the story. NGOs and other social workers (i would know as both my mum and aunt worked for Oxfam) feel that there is not enough effort put in by the center and state governments to spread the message of the benefits of a better education. look at it this way... when DPT vaccinations were introduced ages ago, a number of people rejected them, especially in the rural sectors on the illogical basis that these vaccinations were an attempt to inoculate them with some disease and thus expedite their death, or to make them infertile! since this was all untrue, the center sponsored several programs to spread awareness about the benefits of vaccination and to fight the misconceptions against them. unfortunately when the same policy must be adopted in the regions with a predominant muslim population, the efforts of the NGOs are praise worthy, but the same cannot be said for center and state governments. Add to this the fact that most Mullahs buy into the whole "this will make us infertile and is an attempt to dwindle our numbers" argument and often issue fatwahs against vaccinations and those administering them. This is a particularly poignant problem in Gujrat and Uttar Pradesh. hence, in summary, we have the mullahs, lack of education, and lack of initiative by center and state governments to blame (in that order actually) for the pitiful state of muslims in india. unfortunately, mullahs are beyond the checks and balances of the common voter, but better discretion can be practiced while appointing our legislative leaders.
