Rafael Benitez has left his job as Liverpool manager by mutual consent. Benitez’s position had been in doubt since it emerged that talks over his future with Martin Broughton and managing director Christian Purslow had broken down. The 50-year-old Spaniard, who had been in charge of Liverpool since 2004 and guided them to Champions League glory in 2005, admitted he was disappointed to be leaving. More

Not surprised. Rafa wanted more money and liverpool has none to spare. There are rumors going that Stewie might be joining Jose @ Bernabeu and Chelsea are going all out for Torres. Fun times await for the scousers :woot: IIRC, Rafa might be going to Inter filling Jose's big shoes.

Rafa should have been gone last season, fecker had the nerve to say he didn't get any money and yet spent £260m odd on players. Would absolutely love it if we got Torres, Drogba and Torres upfront, that would scare the sh*t out of any back four in europe.

Hiddink's agent had already mentioned that Guus is not going to Anfield (this was before Rafa's sacking was made official)

Steady hand no more. Nice bloke but will be found wanting at Liverpool who are in decline. This means Man City and Spurs will fight for 3rd as minimum, with Liverpool and gooners competing for Europa league place!
Ah..the dream of the Spurs fans :mama:
