b555 Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Australia agrees to resume cricket ties with Zimbabwe Harare (Zimbabwe) Zimbabwe is set to resume cricket ties with Australia next year following an agreement reached by Sport Minister David Coltart and Cricket Australia officials, APA learnt here Thursday. Coltart said Cricket Australia has tentatively agreed to host a team from Zimbabwe in mid-2011, the first time the two sides will have met in more than seven years. The tour would be the first step towards the reinstatement of cricket ties between the two countries. Cricket Australia has boycotted Zimbabwe since 2003 in retaliation to the political turmoil in the southern African country. Zimbabwe has undergone a major facelift in recent months, with an improvement in the basic facilities and domestic structure.

achilles Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Wow. John Howard couldn't have made this more apparent, could he? Its obvious that Australia is doing all this so that they can get rid off the opposition of Howard's presidency from the Zims.
