So if we multiply this by the number of wickets Murali has taken by this average, it comes out to be 26656 runs. Sachin has 13539 runs. If we divide Sachins runs by 33.32 , Sachin has 402 wickets. This doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but then i see no other way to compare these two.

I would say 25 points per wicket as a 4 wicket haul is pretty close to scoring a century. Still would end up being bogus when we compare.

Interesting comparision and certainly not BS. I know you cant compare a bowler with a batsman but Murali is in a group of very limited bowlers whereas Tendulkar is in a large group of batsmen. Murali in my books probably has the better career.
