Guys, guys, I dont know how I am failing to convey my point! :) I am saying - the Aussie bowlers bully the umpires to get themselves bonus wickets. And they are not being penalized for that. Non Aussie bowlers are not able to successfully do that when the Aussies are batting. And to Sachinism - it goes without saying that I dont condone what the Aussies do.

Do you think there is anybody else in world cricket more expressive and forceful in appealing as Warne? There is your answer. Even a newbie like Bollinger puts immense pressure on the umpires. That is how they play the game.

Good. This will be a good decision.
Bringing the thread back on track. I think they shouldn't wait till the World Cup. Start it One days from the next one day series and more importantly make it mandatory for all countries. Not pick and choose.

My, my! I will stop extrapolating. Your question should be posed to Bucknor himself :). My simple point Bossbhai is that Indians simply have not learnt the art of elaborate and effective appealing. I am NOT talking about the Sydney Test alone while you see to be focused on it. Consider something. If that were to be Tendulkar who was the beneficiary of that decision, do you think Australia would have reacted in the field as India did - just carried on as if it were nothing out of the ordinary. No, sir, you could be damn sure that there would be a lot of cursing and Ponting coming and biting the umpire's ear off. What that would have done is ensured that in subsequent appeals, the Aussies stood a better chance as the umpire definitely would not want to undergo that haranguing again. Hope this helps.

Absolutely. Now tell me which Aussie got fined for over appealing? :) It was right on Ganguly to give a written complaint. I just dont believe that that was deliberate thuggery. They just messed up - to put it lightly :). Anyway that is what I think.

What is PC' date=' Bossbhai? I am also one who believes that Test matches are fine the way they are. I was talking about general opinion. And I know we are not going to agree about the umpires part. [b']You seem to believe that they umpires mess up on purpose. I dont. And no, Graphic23, the excuse of time consumed alone cannot be and should not be held against the fact that ICC decided in its infinite wisdom to try out Hawkeye at the highest level of the game to start with at the international level. Is 5 minutes more important than getting the right decision no matter what format of the game we are talking about?
well ifor one think that the rub of the green ever so often goes the way of the team that is perceived stronger. we could see how bangladesh was robbed at their own home against england quite recently and this sentiment was echoed by the english coach andy flower as well. Australia is probably the biggest example of this not just in cricketing decisions but also in decisions regarding conduct, which they have got away with poor conduct for most of the decade whereas other teams do not seem to enjoy too much leniency. I for one think UDRS is the way to go cricket is not a continuously flowing game like football plus it hardly takes 2 mins to review and communicate a decision, hawkeye is ok, hot spot is probably the most reliable tech so ya :two_thumbs_up:

Spot On. This is true in other sports as well. Football managers make this same argument week in and week out in the Prem League & Championship.

You dont accidentally mess up 3 Consecutive Test Matches a certain Umpire (Shreeman Bucknorji if you are wondering ) got to officiate in Ind-vs-Aus in a manner where only one team (Aus ) benefits. Thats called something else and you pretty well know what it is but are blinded by your love for these scambags and/or being politically correct as usual.
You seem to be missing the point. Even with Bucknor, it is more a case of inefficiency or incompetence rather than vengeful decision making. If you claim it to be anything else, it is tantamount to accusing a cricketer of willfully underplaying. You have got to have proof to make such accusations. And no, proofs of umpiring errors are not enough.

Precisely. That is why I dont believe they make mistakes on purpose. The discussion though was about the folly of not introducing these technological shebangs in the shorter forms of the game before thrusting them onto the big stage of Tests.

I don't see your point. Yes, Indians arent as forceful as the Australians.

My simple point Bossbhai is that Indians simply have not learnt the art of elaborate and effective appealing.
And? You think Indians should be more aggressive with appealing? More importantly, do you think that its desirable part of the game? If the answer to that is no, then your rejection of the review system makes no sense. Yes its not perfect but at least hawkeye is unbiased and fair if nothing else. At least for me, thats much more important than any tiny implementation of the lbw rule like half the ball clipping the bail or whatever else..

Why wait till the World Cup? Start using it from the next ODI tournament onwards and make it compulsory for all international cricket. Even if it helps cut down on 1-2 wron decision every match, that will be a huge leap forward.
