He has the patience to play out session after session and score according to the situation. He can play very slow to pass the time or play at run a ball to win a test game. He may be a little unorthodox as far as technique is concerned but he has what it takes to be part of India's test team for a long time. India vs SL (second test, 2010) First innings Raina 120 (228) sr. 52.63 Notes: - Involved in a huge match saving partnership with Sachin in reply to Sri Lanka's mammoth 642 - becomes only the 9th to get a debut 100 from India. India vs SL (third test, 2010) First innings Raina 62 (111) sr. 55.85 Notes: - Involved in a very important century stand with Laxman in the process to 436 in reply to SL's 425. Second innings Raina 41* (45) sr. 91.11 Notes: - Puts up 87 runs with Laxman on day 5 at a much needed pace. - Hits a confident 6 to wrap up the test match and to win it for India.
