vamos_rafa Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 Off late there has been so much of inconsistency /unsurity in the indian ODI team's line up... There have been so many new players been tried out for a few matches and then thrown away.... the size of our squad keeps on growing but the players who play keep on rotating.... IMO this is a sign of concern... coz thr r hardly 2-3 players who cn stamp their places rest r like floaters....
ZodiaC Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 But we're pretty consistent when it comes to Jaddu's spot. How many more series are we gonna need to find out whom to drop and persist with?
Roshanrocks Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 ((i came here coz i didnt understand the heading))) Indian team as for now has a few players who are dead certaiinties in the playing XI Sachin, Sehwag, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Raina, Dhoni, Zaheer, Bhajji, 3 spots need to be filled thats all,
vamos_rafa Posted August 12, 2010 Author Posted August 12, 2010 but the injuries/restings and all keep away atlast 2-3 of these majors... like now we hv sach, gambhir zak and bhajji not playing.... all these players have nt been part of a playing XI collectively since a long time...

Roshanrocks Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 but the injuries/restings and all keep away atlast 2-3 of these majors... like now we hv sach' date='gambhir zak and bhajji not playing.... all these players have nt been part of a playing XI collectively since a long time...[/quote'] your OP did not mention anything about injuries. I am merely commenting on the "stamp the places" bit
Fontaine Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 I've really tried to be patient with the selection policy, but there really seems to be no set plan leading up to the world cup. We have our core players like Sehwag/Gambhir/SRT/Dhoni/Raina/Zaheer/Bhajji/PK for the ODI team but who's stay these guys will be injury free in the world cup? We have to be able to have a stable team that includes 4/6 players that can come in and play well in case of injuries etc. We don't know who the other spinner will be, who's going to be the all rounder or 3rd fast bowler? Instead of being creative and consistent the selectors seem to be adopting the same old approach of relying on the senior players to do all the hard work.

I think tht has compounded the problem.... thr isnt a pool of reliable players tht is being created rather we have ny1 selectd in place of an injured senior player.....
