This year he averages 41 with the bat ( SR 153 ) in 12 matches with 12 wickets at ER 4.96 at avg of 46.50. If you want exact 20 matches or something head over to statsguru and do it yourself.

Oh thats cool, 20 was just a number 12 will do just fine. Is he a batsman now or a bowler?

Umm an all rounder :winky:
An all rounder with a bowling average of 46.50? :hmmm:

Grasping as straws really now Mr.Gunner i know its the official past time at ICF making fun of how bad Afridi is but the reality very different. An allrounder's job is to perform with the bat or ball preferably both, while this year Afridi has been lackluster with the bowl ( although still a decent ER with a wicket a match ) he made up very well with the bat infact he has more runs, better average, much higher SR than Sehwag ( the best Indian bastman this year ) after exactly the same number of matches ! ( before someone gets their panties in a bunch and has a problem understanding basic language no i am not saying he's a better batsman then sehwag ) The year before that he averaged less than 30 with the ball and ER under 4.5 but with either bat or ball he is a very useful ODI player. Will make it to any side of the world.

Just there for a moment, I thought you were actually making sense and then you say something stupid.

Tell me which which ODI/T20 side in the world he wouldn't make into ?
His spin is not good enough to get him into any side as a spinner, neither is a batting. i am talking of ODIs of course Apart from the 2 100s this year, one against Bangladesh, he has done nothing of note. If you give any average player 300 ODIs experience, he is bound to come good in or two innings, but serriously, stop hyping him up

Another thing, any professional team like Aus, SA or England wont stand Afridi throwing his wicket away blindly. He would be kicked out the first time he does it no matter how valuable he is

Indulge me, name one side for starters.

I didn't bring it up Mr.Gunner wanted recent stats, i'd think ICC rating him as the current #1 all rounder should be enough but doesn't seem so.

India won't tolerate a mediocrity like him, forget about rewarding him with responsibilities of captaincy as Pakistan did.
Buddy go back and read my posts, don't want to repeat myself over and over again. As for India not tolerating "mediocrities" or something let's just not go there. Either you only started watching cricket or have been ignorant for the most part. Just to show my graciousness i'd recommend you talk to some sensible Indian cricket follower and mention the name "Robin Singh" Should be good little history lesson.
India has a FAR BETTER player in Irfan Pathan struggling to make it to the squad. Ravindra jadeja is being persisted with the HOPE that he'd develop (something that never happened with Afretard) as a player. If he doesn't he'll be duly discarded.
Irfan Pathan version 1 was a better player than Afridi but version 2 ( the current one ) is horrible and won't make it to most domestic side these days. Averages well over 40 with the ball, E.R nearly 6, batting average under 20 ( SR under 75 ) in his last two years before he was dropped and i doubt he's got any better. R.Jadeja over Afridi these days is laughable.

Agreed' date=' India 'tolerated' a lesser player like Robin when they were a barely competitive unit. I guess we pretty much agree about the state of the paki cricket that they've stuck with a mediocrity like Afridi for over a decade and, worse, handing him the captain's role. [b']The cherry on the cake is the place assigned to Afridi and Robin respectively amongst their fan base. Get the drift?
That sums up the class of fans from both sides of the border :hatsoff:

r Jadeja is an upcoming young player and was given a run in the team. You laughed at my post about Afridi throwing his wicket away and unfortunately that mirrors Pakistan's attitude about professionalism. But it is the truth that if Afridi had thrwon his wikcet away, like he did in the Lord's test, he would have been thrown out of any professional team immeidately

Who would England drop to have him? Remember, the likes of KP has been dropped by England for non-performance. Who would Aus drop?

Running around cricles i see....again i already said Afridi used to be horrible wouldn't have had much of a career in other sides. But the truth also is that in recent times he has been a very good LOI player and right of now every team in the world would select him in the playing XI is such a choice was presented.

His popularity comes from his insane SR/playstyle/six hitting ability which the un-cricketing masses love, just like people love IPL over Test cricket. "Elitist" cricketing fans hold the same view as i do.
