riwi999 Posted September 29, 2010 Posted September 29, 2010 One look at the english record in Aus. tells you all that you need to know. Nobody takes Botham seriously anymore I am a big believer in momentum. England has the momentum at the moment - their players are gelling together very well. They have come out tops in difficult situations and are showing grit and self-belief not seen in previous English sides. All this is what makes me believe that England will win this Ashes series. True, they have had a poor track record in Australia in recent years but let us not forget that for most of this time they had to contend with an Aussie side having McGrath/Warne/Gilchrist. The current Aussie side is nowhere in comparison to the side that thrashed England in 2006-07. Aussie strength in Australia is over-rated. Australia are as good as you allow them to be. India exposed them, both in 2004 and in 2008. South Africa exposed them the last time they toured Down Under. It is now the turn of England.
