The flash plugin will be out of the way for sure. Once HTML5 is in, there wont be anymore plugins. If one can draw vector on the browser and animate them, the web will become much faster and simpler. However, canvas animation is not going to be easy. There will be too much coding involved. These days just about anyone can learn basic animation and do stuff in flash because basic animation in flash does not involve coding. Canvas will be different. Therefore, there will be several flash-like development kits that will allow the users to draw, animate through timelines and then generate the code for canvas. There is no reason why adobe cant lead that space with so much experience behind them. If they can find a way to generate canvas code from flash directly, they will win more from HTML 5. It will be even better for them as flash will be directly compatible with browsers without the headache of plugins and updates. And with HTML 5 in, they can even offer the whole flash development environment inside a browser.
kabira Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 well, even IE9 will not be supporting Flash, so thats bad news for Flash guys. But I still don't think HTML5 is evolved to completely replace flash. Flash can do lot of more than just animations.
