1) What people think about Murali does count for a lot. After all what the 10 guys in jury thought about Murali was what counted the most, isn't it ?

Yes the ten guys in the jury are jack asses because they applied things outside of the playing field to select a player in the team which does not make a whole lot of sense. They let subjectivity dictate their selection which is a big no no for someone entrusted to do a job based on numbers and performances and not how they personally feel. That is a violation.

3) If India is a benchmark to select spinners -- I will not have single one in the World XI. I don;t think that is possible. Speaking of which -- what has Murali done in India ? You do not have an iota of a chance when you are facing Dravid, Ganguly, VVS and SRT. It would be grossly unfair to measure spinners against these 4.

The point I am trying to make is for someone who is selected unanaimous(Warne) one would expect better success than a 47 bowling average and 43 wickets in 25 innings bowled versus India. Contrast that to Murali who has 100 plus wickets and way better bowling average versus the team(India) that has the best players of spin. That reasons other than cricket are applied to select Warne is obvious which gets my goat. Head to Head based on pure cricketing merits Murali is ahead of Warne and a better spinner and the kind of margin that Warne got over Murali is ludicrous.

Anytime you have people voting, subjectivity will come in. We don't even know how many in the Panel didn't vote for Murali simply because of his action. It could have been due to other reasons as well.
