Who is best captain you have seen?

Allan Border for me. May not have been the best strategist but he compensated for that through grit and determination and led from the front. Took his team out of the dumps and put them on the path of glory.

No team has 3 legends/all time greats (either with bat or ball) in their team. SA has Kallis & Aus has :punter:, and that's that. Plus the bowling resources of all teams has deteriorated quite badly too. A lineup with Sach, Dravid, VVS, Viru = world beaters.

I guess if Mcgrath was playing against todays batters and on some of todays pitches, he would have struggled too. I dont think there is much difference between Mcgrath or Akram Vs Steyn n dare I say Zak.

Check out Joginder Sharma's profile, he's compared to kapil dev :haha: Big deal. Akram bowled in flattest pattas of Pakistan, his weapon was reverse swing, which made him lethal. Mcgrath's accuracy was unmatchable, which made him a legendary new ball bowler. What a sterotype, pitches were probably the same in those days too, it's just that bowling's getting progressively weaker.

Brisbane pitch was decent, if you saw the match. Whenever bowlers are bowling like imbeciles, any pitch looks flat. The pitch had massive cracks and ball was turning miles literally/keeping low after landing on the cracks. Blame the bowlers for not exploiting that.
